Lead and shape the future of Scouting in Whitley Bay & District

Whitley Bay and District incorporates eleven Groups, an Explorer Unit and a Network. Whitley Bay Scout District is located in North Tyneside, Scout Groups are to be found in Cullercoats, Whitley Bay, Monkseaton and Earsdon, with each Group operating Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. The District has its own headquarters at the entrance to Marden Quarry on The Broadway and this is where the Explorer Unit and Network meet. Whitley Bay and District Scouts’ total membership is currently 908 which includes:

  • 16 Squirrels (4 – 6 year-olds)
  • 168 Beaver Scouts (6 – 8 year-olds)
  • 210 Cub Scouts (8 – 10 1⁄2-year-olds)
  • 194 Scouts (10 1⁄2 – 14 year-olds)
  • 99 Explorer Scouts (14 – 18 year-olds)
  • 26 Network members (18 – 25 year-olds)
  • 195 Adult Volunteers (18+ year-olds)
  • The current vacancy
    We’re currently looking for a District Lead Volunteer. This is a management role, and we need someone who can provide leadership, motivation and guidance to our other adult volunteers.
