Broadwood Campsite

Located close to Morpeth, the site is operated by the 93rd Newcastle Scout Group. The site sits on the banks of the River Font, and is nestled within 10 acres of woodland. The main camping field can comfortably hold two large groups with recreational space between to use for activities. Perfect for groups wishing to enjoy traditional camping, the site has enough woodland for hammock wild camping with a designated area by the river for up to 12 hammocks and areas for shelter building.

Dilston Campsite

Located close to the town of Corbridge, the site is operated by Hadrian Scout District.  The 10-acre site is ideal for small District camps, Group camps or Section camps, as well as for smaller expedition groups. It can be booked for exclusive use or as smaller pitches. Maximum capacity 200.  A building with large indoor hall, external decking, 2 bedrooms (6 bunks) and kitchen can also be booked. The site has plenty of space for activities, campfire areas and the Devilswater river that gentle ambles through the site is a perfect location for exploring, water activities or just enjoying its natural beauty.

Ford Campsite

Ford Scout Camp is operated by North Northumberland District Scouts and is situated in a secluded area on the Ford and Etal Estate. The purpose built building and surrounding camping area can be booked for exclusive use by groups. The building offers a large hall, a smaller meeting room, toilet and shower blocks, and a fully equipped kitchen.

Pigdon Campsite

Located close to Morpeth, the site is operated by Whitley Bay & District Scouts. The main camping field is ideal for group and section camps. Located on the banks of the River Font, the site is surrounded by woodland ideal for exploring, wild hammock camping and shelter building. There is a small building with a kitchen on site, toilet block and a large campfire circle.

Powburn Activity Centre

Located on the edge of the village of Powburn in Northumberland (approx. 40 miles from Newcastle) the centre is operated by Tynemouth Scout District. It is surrounded by unspoilt countryside with easy access to the Cheviot Hills. The centre consists of a number of small dorm rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and central hall. Activities available on site at an extra cost include crate stacking, archery and grass sledging.

Sawmill Campsite, Scots’ Gap

Located near to Morpeth and Rothbury, the site is operated by Newcastle Scout District. Rented from the National Trust for over 40 years, the site aims to provide a facility for Scouts and other youth groups to learn and develop basic camping skills in a pleasant and enjoyable environment. The greenfield site is approx. 6 acres with two camping areas surrounded by trees. The Delf Burn flows down the west side of the site. Mains water, paved fireplace areas, flagpole and Elsan pit are provided.

Selby Wood Campsite

Located near Stanton, Morpeth, the site is operated by Blyth Valley Scout District. Consisting of a large activity field approx. 2000m2 plus 8 individual sites approx. 100m2 in size, the site is ideal for patrol camping and section camps. An indoor facility, the Lineker Pavilion can be hired for evenings, a day or a whole weekend for a range of activities including training.

Spylaw Cottage  

Spylaw Cottage is a renovated old farm building situated in the heart of the Simonside Hills. The cottage is operated by Blyth Valley Scout District. The cottage is an ideal location for an overnight expedition stop, hiking weekend or skills camp. The cottage includes a main living area with wood burning stove, a small kitchen area with calor gas oven, utility room and toilet, a small two person leaders room and two main sleeping rooms with a total of 18 bunk beds.
