Northumberland Scouts are thrilled to announce the new Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Following the Annual General Meeting in September, the Scout Council approved the nomination of Dr Helen Paterson to be the Chair of the Board of Trustees for Northumberland Scouts. Helen’s appointment will commence immediately.

The Chair of the Board of Trustees plays a vital role in the governance of Northumberland Scouts, working with volunteers and staff to deliver the Skills for Life strategy and to ensure even more young people across Northumberland have the opportunity to gain valuable skills for life.

Peter Thorp, Northumberland Scouts Lead Volunteer, said: “Helen impressed us during the recruitment process with her understanding of the issues facing young people in Northumberland, her inclusive approach, her passion for volunteering, and her experiences as a trustee for other organisations.

“She has already made a great impression on staff and volunteers during her time as a Trustee over the past year and we know she will have a hugely positive impact on the lives of young people and volunteers in Scouts across Northumberland.”

Please join us in welcoming Helen to the role of Chair of Northumberland Scouts.
