Tynemouth
Tynemouth Scout District incorporates fifteen Groups, three Explorer Units, a Network and a Scout Fellowship.
Tynemouth Scout District is situated to the east of Newcastle upon Tyne, the western boundary being the East Coast Main Railway Line, the southern boundary being the River Tyne and the eastern boundary the North Sea.
The area is mainly residential with a scattering of light industry. Heavy industry and shipbuilding alongside the river is almost all gone and the riverside communities are now undergoing substantial redevelopment. However, Tynemouth is a very progressive District and is actively working on developing Scouting in all areas.
