Tall Ships'10 (Chris Eldridge)
The Tall Ships are in Hartlepool from the 6th to 10th August 2010 as they arrive from Norway. It is the biggest free event in the County in 2010!The Scouts have 5 boats in the 60 strong Tall Ships fleet. The Boats we have chartered are Faramir, Provident, Challenger 1, Moosk, and Thermopylae.

Please support us in a number of ways:
1. Pray for a safe passage and good weather for all boat crews.
2. Help out or visit our Scout stall located at the Hartlepool Marina lock gates our express aim is to promote Scouting and Sail training in our region. The stall will be there between 6th and 10th of August.
Note - Our Boats are located in the Marina on Jacksons Landing, and although access to get on board our boats is restricted we will try to accommodate planned visits - health and safety depending.
3. Faramir sails from Royal Quays Marina in North Shields for Norway on Saturday the 25th July and we are all meeting at 09:00 hrs for the press photography shoots.
Please feel free to come along.
4. Cheer for us at the Parade of sail and award ceremony taking place from 15:00 hrs on Sunday the 8th August.
5. Watch the Fireworks at 21:30 hrs on Saturday 7th Aug, Sunday the 8th Aug & Monday the 9th Aug.
6. Note another Parade of Sail takes place on Tuesday the 10th Aug between 09:00 hrs and 13:00 hrs.
123 10 10 Challenge Event (Explorers, Chris Eldridge)
Date: 1st to the 3rd October 2010. Explorer Scout Unit leaders please let Chris Eldridge know if your unit is putting a team in for the challenging event across Northumberland. County Badge Weekend (Scout Section, Richard Brown)
The next County badge weekend will be held on 22nd-24th October 2010. The badge we will be undertaking this year is Orienteering and we will be holding this event at Hawkhirst Adventure Camp, Kielder. Groups or Patrols can come along for the weekend and will be required to camp and cater for themselves with or wothout leaders. The County AGM is being held on Thursday 30th September 2010 at CastleGate Melbourne Street Newcastle upon Tyne. Please make a note of the date in your diary and more details will follow.
Elections to the County Executive by the County Scout Council
Each year the County Scout Council elects members of the Council to the County Executive Committee. This process starts with nominations from the County Scout Council then elections by postal ballot - the results being announced at the County AGM. For more information
