Hello, we’re Northumberland Scouts

The Scouts are the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation. Northumberland is one of the largest Scout Counties in the UK, with a total membership of over 8,000+ and growing right across the region of Northumberland from The River Tyne in the south to the north of Berwick. You’ll probably find a Scout group or Explorer Scout unit within a couple of miles of your house.

We change lives by offering 4 to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities. Scouts helps children and young adults reach their full potential. Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment.

We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.

OUR PLAN TO DELIVER BETTER FUTURES

Our Goals

Our plan is to build on the success of the previous plan: to continue to grow, become more inclusive, to be shaped by young people and to make a bigger impact in our communities. We have set new goals for 2025.

Growth

As a movement, we have grown for the last 13 years. We want to continue that positive trend, bringing skills for life to more young people across the UK.

Preparing Young People with Skills For Life

Every week, we help almost half a million people aged 4-25 develop skills for life. Are you ready to join the adventure?

Our Mission

Scouting actively engages and supports young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

Our Values

As Scouts, we are guided by these values:

Integrity: We act with integrity; we are honest, trustworthy and loyal.
Respect: We have self-respect and respect for others.
Care: We support others and take care of the world in which we live.
Belief: We explore our faiths, beliefs and attitudes.
Cooperation: We make a positive difference; we cooperate with others and make friends.

You look like a role model… You can learn new skills, make new friends and make a difference! And its #GoodForYou Want to join?
