History

In 1907 Baden Powell held his experimental camp on Brownsea Island, in Poole Harbour. From there The Scout Movement was born.

But the first official Scout camp was held at Humshaugh in Northumberland in 1908. The site is still marked by a cairn and hundreds of Scouts walk there every year.
