Great North
Great North Scout District incorporates thirteen Groups and three Explorer Units.
Great North became a District in 2005 with the amalgamation of Gosforth, Newcastle Western and part of Newcastle Central Districts. The District name was chosen by those who attended the inaugural day meeting.
The boundary line is from the Tyne Bridge up the Great North Road to Blue House Roundabout, sweep around South Gosforth and back onto Gosforth High Street at Holywood Road. It continues to Great Park, including Brunton Park, the rest of the District being determined by Newcastle City Boundaries, meeting the Tyne at Throckley. Outwith the city centre the District is mainly residential.
