Castle Morpeth

Castle Morpeth Scout District has the same geographical boundaries as those of the former Castle Morpeth Borough Council.

The County Town of Morpeth is central to the District and there is a large population centre at Ponteland and the adjoining Darras Hall estate. The Western side of the District is a rural area with sparse and scattered population. The North-Eastern part of the District is a former coalfields area with an active regeneration body and a significant home building project. There are two Scout Groups in Morpeth and one each in Pegswood, Ponteland, Stannington, and Whalton  There are active Explorer Scout Units in Morpeth and Ponteland.
